I am obsessed with your health and the health of the world. I believe that the fastest way for all people to be happy is to start with nutrition. Because once the body works well, the mind works well, and the soul can heal. If we are healthy then we can make a healthier world.
All recipes on this blog are gluten-free. All are plant based, and considering your health as much as possible by dishes being composed of complete proteins and an array of micro and macro nutrients. Eggs are used when called for, and on rare occasion you will see another animal product. Unless you take a supplement of B12, you cannot live without the occasional animal product, unless you are consuming enough bacteria from the soil. Also there are different stages in your life where you should eat differently, for example if you are eating curing allergies, or eating for pregnancy. But whether if your vegan, vegetarian, or an omnivore, you can still eat 90% of these recipes.
Each post has a section on the science of a nutrient. This helps you understand the purpose behind why certain ingredients are used, or why a recipe will nourish your body to the greatest extent. If you are interested in real nutrition this is the blog for you. Of course, if you are only interested in feeling incredibly amazing at all times, then the easy recipes here are for you and you can skip reading the scientific article.
My style of cooking is simple, it should not take 1-2 hours to execute one meal like many recipes out there. You may take this long to make several recipe to feed you all week, but the goal is simple food with a focus on health. Because even those of us that love to cook want to have time outside of the kitchen, especially if we are feeding a family.
I focus on simple ingredients that are easily accessible or that should be in your pantry or fridge. Because inflation is high enough with simple organic and plant based foods.
Want to know more about me? Well, I am super nerdy, and girl next door pretty, but I want this blog to be about my nerdiness, not my cute body. (Also, I am camera shy). Of course, I have a gorgeous figure that looks 22, minus some tummy pooch from having babies. I love babies, I love children, and animals and I get along super well. I like cooking most of all, along with reading all about science, as long as it has to do with food and human physiology. My intellectual passions at the moment are all things on nutrition for pregnancy and breastfeeding and after that on all the toxins in the world that are affecting human physiology.
The state of all the physiologically disrupting chemicals in the world is of special interest to me because you could class me with those people who are called canaries in the coal mine. If you are not familiar with the early 1920’s, in the era of mining coal the miners would carry a canary down in the mine with them. If the canary stopped singing it was time to get out, and if it died, well there was a big rush to the exit, because some of those strong brave men were about to die as well. Now days, a canary can be used to describe a person who is extra sensitive to the environment. Even Time Magazine has written about it. These people are either super sensitive to a certain class of chemicals or food. Most live in isolation in the desert or jungle to be able to survive. But I healed my body so I can live anywhere…even a huge polluted city of millions of people.
I am also a super taster and super smeller and can sense chemicals on foods by “smell.” Not fun, but it helps me pick out low pesticide vegetables at the store or market even when or not labeled organic. Of course you may not believe me like my parents, but they gave me a blind test and I can 100% identify which foods are organic and not organic. I can also sense EMF radiation, when it increases or before a helicopter can be seen or heard. I guess in a past life I was a huntress….I can also see further than anyone, hear what people are saying across the room and have other extra-sensory perceptive skills that are a little bit hard to explain. It doesn’t serve so well in this modern world, but maybe it makes me more in tune with the field of nutrition so I can serve people better. But for you these senses are to an advantage because they allow me to sense where or how someone is ill in their body or what foods or nutrients they need, or they should take away…so if you want to consult for a nutrition plan, I am around.
I missed the 20’s of my age because I had to spend so much time healing my body. I was undiagnosed and diagnosed, rashes, adrenal failure, horrible pain, shut down of bodily systems and in the hospital, 3 times in one year…forcing me to drop out of medical school. It is as well that happened because I have learned since then that optimal health does not come from western medicine.
Of course, western medicine has it’s place. I am glad I can go to the pharmacy and get a antibiotic, anti-parasitic drug, or some prednisone instead of dying of adrenal failure or an infection. Pain medications have their place as well, though they can be abused.
But most drugs on the market are not needed, they keep in place a system that has gone towards money and not towards health. Food and herbs along with other modalities such as yoga, solfeggio and rife frequencies, and meditation have such a greater potential to heal the body. This is absolutely true of all non-communicable diseases.
I spent my 20’s healing my body. I wish I had blogged about it then, but I was in so much pain and so sick that it was my whole life, supporting myself financially, and the rest of my time went to making my food, studying the science, juicing, fasting, yoga, meditation, exercise that my body needed, walking, swimming, or just sitting and being in nature to allow the ions of the trees to heal my body.
But I am here now to share with you the knowledge I have…far more than I ever learned, or would have learned in medical school….by the way I also have a masters in nutrition from an esteemed university. I have worked in all kinds of nutrition labs, microbiology, toxicology, nutrition and exercise. I have spent hundreds of thousands of hours reading, writing, cooking, researching, learning, and healing. Now I can share this with you. I am not an influencer who wants to be hot and share the latest diet. In fact, none of my dietary recommendations are going to align with any hip diet. I cannot be part of any diet culture because my work is based purely on research. And some on experience. But any thing I do in experience stemmed from research or following other modalities such as Ayurveda for cleansing.
I have experience working and owning food business and a restaurant. I have worked as a nutritionist in a doctors office. I have written thesis and had my work ideas stolen by professors, several times over. I have been told my ideas were “pies in the sky,” with my ears burning i left the podium…but ten years later the things and ideas I had about nutrition are becoming mainstream.
As I work to share my work, I hope you follow along as I start to publish years of writings and photography. I just finished my first book. It is on micronutrient nutrition for pregnancy and lactation. I am on the second draft of my second book which is a cooking manual, along with macronutrient nutrition and covers all the fats needed for pregnancy and lactation. I am a bit sidetracked with a detoxification manual and started writing the science background for that part. I hope you follow along for when my books are published. And I am here if you have any referrals to a writers agent. So…. enough embarrassing stuff about me, I hope you read some of my work, or send me an email if you need a medical empath nutritionist to cure your health issues and you have a willingness to heal.
